This is your official invitation to join the Let's Go Sew group of friends for a fun filled retreat held at a historic hotel in the heart of Ohio's largest Amish community! A true destination location known for its quaint culture, beautiful scenery, food, and of course, fabric stores both big and small with sought after selections!
Eat, sleep, shop, sew, and spend time with new and old friends. You'll find all the details below but here are the most important ones:
Who? YOU! We have a specified amount of space so you are one of a select group of invited friends.
What? Free for all retreat! Bring your own projects, machines and tools for creativity. Sew, shop, & sleep at your leisure. We'll have a few optional group activities planned so stay tuned for more news on this.
When? Arrive anytime after 11AM Thursday May29th. Depart by 11AM on Sunday June 1st.
Where? Hotel Millersburg 1847 Quilt Retreat Center, 35 W. Jackson St., Millersburg, OH in downtown Millersburg. Reservations include breakfast and coupons for local sewing shops.

Space is limited to approximately 20 participants so each person has their own table. Please make your reservations as soon as possible. You can call the hotel directly (Phone: (330) 674-1457) and tell them you are joining the Let's Go Sew with Joanne Banko Retreat for the special room rate. Or, you can call Jaime, our on-site retreat coordinator directly at: (330-204-7925). Jaime is off on Monday & Tuesday. Please read cancellation policy HERE.
Hotel is right on a main road in the heart of downtown, across from the courthouse. We will be in the Buckeye room 24' X 90' with our own restrooms separate from the hotel. You'll have access to the locked room with a code and can come and go as you please day or night. Learn more HERE.
More hotel info: Historic hotel with Victorian era decor, 2 elevators, & Free WiFi throughout the building. Onsite restaurant is currenlty open for lunch and dinner. Breakfast items are included with your stay and available in our retreat room each morning. More about the onsite restaurant HERE.

You can turn onto S. Washington Street to access the public parking lot at the back of the building, near the PNC bank (34 S Clay St, Millersburg, OH 44654). There's an attached alley and you'll see a courtyard at the back of the hotel. You can pull your car into this alley and park alongside the back of the hotel to unload. Entrance to our retreat room is directly off the courtyard. See pictures below. Feel free to text me (440-231-3296) when you arrive if you need help finding the alley and unloading. We have access to wagons for unloading.
Our sewing space opens at 11AM Thursday. Actual check in for your room is 3PM, but may be earlier. Check out is 11AM on Sunday. Sewing space needs to be cleared by then.

Enjoy your get-away! Go to your room and take a nap, head out to the many wonderful places to visit in the area, eat at area restaurants, and spend time coming and going in and out of your dedicated creative space as you please. Your sewing equipment and supplies can remain in the secure room while you're away. Please note: NO ALCOHOL in our retreat room please.
Last but not least, here are some links and a list of some places you may want to visit. This is by no means a complete list. Do a search for places to visit in and around Holmes County and you will be on the internet for a long time :-) You'll get a goodie bag from the hotel with coupons for local places so you may want to pick that up before exploring and shopping as I can't guarantee what will be included. - Historic Downtown Millersburg- Our retreat is in the heart of downtown Millersburg. This link lists local shops, coffee houses, and eateries very near the hotel.
- Victorian House Museum & Millersburg Glass Museum - (Less than 10 minutes away).
- Ernest Warther Museum & Gardens - Woodcarving, Button Display & 1910 House & Garden (If this interests you, it is about 40 minutes away from our hotel location).
- Guggisberg Cheese Factory - Home of the original Baby Swiss Cheese (About 15 minutes away).
- Walnut Creek Cheese & Market - Huge market with tons of fresh & bulk foods, gift and kitchen items, deli, ice cream shop and so much more!!! Very popular with both locals and tourists. (About 20 minutes away).
- Sol's Arts & Crafts Extravaganza - Arts & Crafts Mall with flea market style booths and new items too. Three stores in one place, Sol's Palace, Sol's Exchange, and Sol's Kit-N-Kaboodle are brimming with an exciting assortment of crafts. (About 10 minutes away).
- Walmart Supercenter - 1640 S Washington St, Millersburg, OH 44654 (About 5 minutes away). Not exactly an attraction but if you need something it's nice to know it's just minutes from the hotel.

- Millers Dry Goods - LOTS of fabric, patterns, notions, etc.! (About 15 minutes away).

- Helping Hands Quilt Shop - Large quilt shop in quaint Berlin (About 10 minutes away).
- Plaid Sheep Company - Fabrics, patterns, hand embroidery supplies and much more in this beautiful and inspiring store. In Schrock's Village, about 15 minutes from hotel.
- Weaver Leather Supply - Leathercrafting supplies perfect for fueling the creative spirit of both beginners and experienced artisans. (About 10 minutes away). Charm Fabrics & Clothing - Amish owned shop not far from Millers Dry Goods. Visit if you want to see traditional amish clothing & fabrics.
- Holmes Sew & Vac - Janome/Elna Sewing shop, family owned selling vacuums, sewing machines, sewing services, and repair services in quaint Berlin (About 10 minutes away).
- Carlisle Fabrics - Carlisle Fabric and Quilts is located in Sugarcreek, Ohio. Owned by Verna, Esta, and Susan Yoder. Amish clothing, Mettler thread, notions, cotton quilt fabric, quilt kits, & polyester dress fabrics. (About 25 minutes away).
- Anything Sews - Classes, fabrics, sewing and quilting supplies. (About 40 minutes away).

Brands include Pandora, Brighton, BedStu, Vera Bradley, and Tribal. Buggy Brew Coffee Co. inside. This is a popular Non-sewing destination for retreat guests. (About 10 minutes away).
