This week the It’s Sew Easy TV online episode is whimsical and fun! With a focus on costumes for dressing up young ones and those who feel young at heart, you are sure to get some ideas for the next time you are in need of a custom costume. You'll see some beautiful knit tops to imitate as well! First you’ll see sewing experts Janet Pray and Jessica Johnson alter a basic pattern to make a cute, cuddly, and safe toddler costume. Their presentation is full of practical tips for pleasing a toddler. For any age category the elements of a costume include items that are essential for all wearables - fit, fabric, and function. These three elements are especially important for little ones. From their tiny perspective, costumes should focus on just being ”fun.” Comfort is certainly a key feature. For young ones it isn't fun if it isn't comfortable too! Watch and learn how to stitch up your own memory maker during this informative and entertaining segment. In another segment fabric artist Terry McFeely creates whimsical fairy wings. I had the opportunity to tape on the same day that Terry was at the It’s Sew Easy TV studio. She is a delightful person and you can tell she has as much fun wearing her artistry as she does designing it. Her Terial Magic product is somewhat new on the market but it has taken the sewing and crafting world by storm. You’ll find this product has more than a 101 uses. A while back I wrote a short tip sheet that features this environmentally friendly liquid stabilizer. You can CLICK HERE to download my Free tip sheet. Be sure to check out the official product website http://terialarts.com for even more information and inspiration! In between the two costume segments you’ll see Angela demonstrate knit neckline techniques. Angela is an expert with stylish knit garments and tops are certainly one of her specialties. The samples on the show are really beautiful. Create your own gorgeous top using Angela's signature ruched T-top digital or printed pattern. The classic cowl neck version is one of my personal favorites! CLICK HERE for more info.
